For: Current UH Mānoa Students Still Fulfilling Prerequisites
Step 1 – Register for the “Pre-Medical Technology” pathway.
Email medtech@hawaii.edu to meet with an MT Academic Advisor to declare the PMT pathway, plan your courses, and gain priority consideration in the MT application cycle.
Step 2 – Complete All Prerequisites at UH Manoa
Once you have finished all required courses, you will be ready to declare Medical Technology as your major.
Step 3 – Submit Program Materials
Please email the following to medtech@hawaii.edu:
PDF copy of your complete STAR transcript
Note of Interest (no more than one page):

Step 4 – Declare MT Major
An academic advisor will review your materials and contact you about next steps.
For: Students Who Already Hold a Bachelor’s Degree (Former UH student or non-UH transfers)
If you already hold a bachelor’s degree and wish to complete a second degree in Medical Technology:
Step 1 – Apply to UH Mānoa
Complete the UH Mānoa undergraduate application as a second-degree student by the final deadline.

Step 2 – Submit Program Materials
After you submit your UH application, please email the following to medtech@hawaii.edu:
Your UH Application Number
Unofficial Transcripts (from all colleges or universities attended)
Note of Interest (no more than one page):

Step 3 – Meet with an Academic Advisor
An academic advisor will review your materials and contact you about next steps.
For: Kapiʻolani Community College MLT Students
If you are currently enrolled in the KCC Medical Laboratory Technician program:
Step 1 – Auto-Enroll to UH Mānoa
Use the STAR system to auto-enroll/auto-transfer to UH Mānoa before the published deadline.
For assistance, contact the STAR Help Team or speak with your KCC academic advisor.
Step 2 – Submit Program Materials
