Niigata University of Health and Welfare Hosts a Virtual Exchange Program

The pandemic has impacted many activities in and around campus. Normally, Niigata University of Health and Welfare (NUHW) visit UHM in the fall. Because of travel restrictions, the NUHW exchange program had to go virtual this year. Although this type of interaction is not ideal, it circumvents the travel restrictions experienced by both NUHW and UHM. Through 10 minute presentations, the UHM Medical Technology seniors presented three slide shows. The first explained our program, another group demonstrated how to perform coagulation testing, and the third group covered a case study. The Niigata students focused on cultural aspects of Niigata like the local cuisine and Japanese animation. It is hoped that the COVID-19 case counts will continue to improve and that we will be able to enjoy in-person exchange between NUWH and UHM Medical Technology.
